The central theme for the various sessions at the IAC2024 congress was “Responsible Space for Sustainability.” This theme resonates deeply with the strategy of Advalup, particularly in the realm of space debris management and the development of new technologies that are safer for our environment. As the demands for satellite technology expand, it becomes increasingly crucial to cover and survey our Earth effectively, addressing all security aspects related to defense. The growing necessity for space technologies is pushing the envelope of innovation and operational safety within the industry.

In this context, Advalup proudly supports HPS-Gmbh in its business development efforts for the ADEO deorbiting subsystem. This state-of-the-art subsystem represents one of the most mature solutions available today for ensuring the safe deorbiting of satellites at the end of their operational lives. Designed specifically for Low Earth Orbit (LEO) satellites, the ADEO system adheres to international regulations, ensuring that satellites are safely deorbited within a five-year timeframe. This not only helps in maintaining the cleanliness of our orbital environment but also provides access opportunities for other users in the increasingly congested orbital space. It is why advalup participates to IAC2024

Additionally, Advalup is forging a strong collaboration with CompPair Technologies, a company specializing in prepregs that facilitate ultra-fast in situ repairs for composite structures and use. Through its partnership, CompPair Technologies is recognized globally as a leading expert in composite materials, innovating with the first healable and sustainable composite material. This groundbreaking advancement in self-healing composites is made possible with CompPair’s prepregs, known as HealTech™. With this technology, composite structures can repair damage on-site in as little as one minute, significantly enhancing the durability and lifespan of aerospace components. It is why advalup participates to IAC2024.

Overall, the IAC congress IAC2024 served as a significant platform for fostering discussions around sustainability in space, fostering collaborations, and promoting technological innovations that pave the way for a safer, more responsible approach to space activities. It highlights the intersection of environmental stewardship with the advancements in aerospace technology, which is critical as we look toward the future of space exploration and utilization. The conversations and partnerships initiated during this week will undoubtedly drive progress and shape the landscape of our shared space endeavors moving forward.

According to United Nations, the 17 goals for sustainable development should be followed for a better future for everyone, and also for space activities. The Earth’s orbital space environment constitutes a finite resource that is being used by an increasing number of States, international organizations, and non-governmental entities. This growing utilization raises essential questions about the responsible management of space, emphasizing the need for collaboration among global stakeholders to protect our shared orbital environment. The huge number of space debris, which ranges from defunct satellites to spent rocket stages, poses significant challenges to safe space operations. Furthermore, the increasing complexity of space operations, spurred by advanced technologies and ambitious projects, contributes to the risk of collisions in orbit.
